It explains how to utilize the many Books, Programs, and Computing Resources in the System. Friends of the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum maintains a great website which explains Museum Hours for visits (Free, but will take donations, groups by appointment), Permanent Exhibits (mostly famous people from Oktibbeha County, including MSU Sports), Programs and Events, Special Projects, such as our Award-Winning Rain Garden, and the wonderful Historical Newsroom. There is a super (42,500 acres) Wildlife and Timber Preserve and Recreational Area near Brooksville, MS that is no more than 18 miles from Starkville. It's called the Noxubee Refuge. Their fine website will acquaint you with instructions on how to visit the refuge, the Wildlife and associated Habitat, the Seasons in which specific Wildlife can best be viewed, and facts about the refuge. Oh, did I mention that they feature Alligators, Ducks, Geese, Eagles, Deer, and Turkeys, not to mention many, many more creatures, as well as super overlooks, two wonderful fishing lakes, and mature bottomland hardwood timber. In Jackson, there is a website that is maintained for the benefit of PERS retirees all over Mississippi. This organization is concerned with maintaining the status quo for PERS benefits, and has the best interests of PERS retirees at heart. It is called the "Mississippi Retired Public Employees Association", or MRPEA.ORG. There is a fee to join the association, and that's currently $20 per year. You may join MRPEA via instructions in the website. There is no fee to browse the website. Here's the MRPEA link:
